Meet Our Team

Dr. Garofalo

Veterinarian

From a very young age, Dr. Garofalo knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. She graduated from the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in May of 2000. Her career has had a convoluted path having worked in private practice, emergency medicine, and laboratory animal medicine in addition to pursuing certification in equine rehabilitation. Dr. Garofalo is certified in the following alternative therapies: veterinary acupuncture, food therapy, and Tui-Na, a form of Chinese therapeutic massage.

Dr. Garofalo started Paws by the Peaks, PLLC to integrate the Eastern and Western philosophies of veterinary medicine she has learned and to make these modalities more accessible to her patients as a mobile practice. Dr. Garofalo will be providing a variety of medical services for exotics, horses, and small animals. She has a special interest in helping those patients that have a difficult time in the clinic setting and wants to do her best to make geriatric patients as comfortable as possible in their advancing years. Do not hesitate to look through the website or call to find out more about the services we offer.

Hayley

Veterinary Technician
My name is Hayley and I have been a licensed veterinary technician since 2016. I grew up in a rural area on the farm I now own and have a great passion for large animals and their care. I have a horse and compete in breakaway roping; as well as 3 dogs that keep me on my toes. Two catahoula leopard dogs, AttieMae who is pictured, PilotJames and a hound dog I rescued, BellaRoo. I met Dr. Garofalo while working in a small animal practice 3 years ago, and our common interests have led to a great friendship. I look forward to caring for all your loved animals while working alongside such a great veterinarian!

Erica

Licensed Veterinary Technician
Erica is an LVT who graduated from Elmira College in 2019 with a BS in Biology and from Medaille College in 2021 with an AS/BS in Veterinary Technology. She has been connected to animals her entire life and recently adopted 2 baby guinea pigs, “Hamilton” and “Lafayette” – she is so in love with their cute little faces! Since she does not have cats or dogs of her own, Erica spends much of her free time pet-sitting for friends, family, and clients. Erica met Dr. Garofalo while attending Medaille College and became colleagues with her in private practice shortly after. Dr. G has become a great mentor and role model for everyone she works with. Erica is super excited to be joining the Paws by the Peaks team to help animals in all these neighboring communities!

Kelly

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Kelly is an LVT who graduated from Canisius University with a BS in Biology/Animal Behavior and from Medaille University in 2015 with an AS in Veterinary Technology. She is a certified concert junkie and champion of unwanted reptiles. Animals and their well-being are a lifetime priority for her, and this is reflected in both personal and professional avenues. Kelly’s and Dr. Garofalo’s paths are long and winding, intersecting throughout both of their careers. Kelly is elated to be joining the Paws by the Peaks team to care for animals in various neighborhoods.
